Hello, my name is Phil Singleton and I've been creating SEO ready websites in Kansas City since 2005. Website design and search engine optimization are my career passions. My super talented team loves creating high performance WordPress websites - this website, in fact, is a WordPress website. I own an operate Kansas City Web Design® and Kansas City SEO®. If you are looking for an innovative web design that is engineered to do well on the major search engines, my team can help.

Great web design is a commodity. If you want a really good looking website but don't necessarily need to be found online, you can get a creative website design from just about any web designer. Most KC businesses, however, want their websites to be found easily so that they can reach new customers and grow their businesses. This is where organic search engine optimization comes into play.

And this is what we do best.

Kansas City Web Design

SEO Specialist | Web Developer | Owner

After a stint as an entrepreneur running my own consumer software company in Asia, my wife and I moved back the Kansas City in 2005.  I had no plans to start a web design company, but one day I asked a small KC business owner why he didn’t have a website.  I built my first Kansas City website for free, just to prove how good SEO really works.  I was able to apply all the national and global SEO methods and techniques that I learned at my previous company and started applying them at the local level.  It worked.  Since then we’ve worked with hundreds of companies here in Kansas City and around the nation.  Our web design agency is Duct Tape Marketing Certified, and is consistently ranked as the best among all Kansas City web design agencies.  Kansas City Web Design has become the “go to” web development for many of the top brands and most recognized companies in the KC metro area.

On an professional level, helping small and medium sized businesses grow their companies in a tough economic environment has been them most rewarding thing I have ever done.  We take a practical, business like approach to creating or modifying your website to ensure it has the best chances at sustainable organic search engine rankings.  We enjoy long term relationships with our Kansas City SEO clients and work hard to make sure our services deliver a high return on investment month after month and year after year.

In 2016, I co-wrote SEO for Growth with John Jantsch, the best selling author of Duct Tape Marketing.  SEO for Growth was the top selling SEO books on Amazon in 2016 and is consistently one of the top rated, best selling search engine optimization book on Amazon.

Thunderbird | The American Graduate School Of International Management

I received and MBA from Thunderbird in 1999. Though few people outside of International business have heard of Thunderbird, for over 20 years in a row the school has been ranked the #1 school in the world for international business…beating out Wharton, Harvard, NYU and just about any other prestigious business program you can think of – and this means nothing really.  I think what is unique, however, is that I’ve yet to met a web designer that had and MBA and Finance background.  I think this makes my team unique and explains why I tend to focus on practical, revenue generating web designs that yield a return on investment, rather than solely focusing on the front end eye-candy.  I think SEO consulting is especially well-suited for finance professionals – to do it right, you have to gather and analyze data, then create and execute a strategy based on your analysis.  Its a totally different approach for web design, but it works.

Fairfield University

BS Finance

OK this really dates me, but I have a Bachelor of Science from Fairfield University, a Jesuit university in Fairfield, Connecticut.  I stuck with the Jesuits after graduating from high school at Tampa Jesuit.   Fairfield is a great school on a beautiful campus that is just a short train ride into New York City.  Pretty much all of my work experience from graduating from Fairfield through returning to Kansas City in 2005 relates to finance, venture capital and running a retail software company.  It should be noted that I lived in Asia (primarily Taiwan) for over ten years and am fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Why SEO Web Designers Are So Concerned About Social Signals

One of the most significant changes that Google’s Penguin and Panda Updates have brought about are the fact that Google is giving significant weight to social media signals. However, everyone is still trying to figure out how the search engine is measuring these signals.
